Those darn pets!
My cat, Cole, gave me quite a scare on Monday morning. I heard him fall down an entire set of stairs and found him at the bottom with his head tilted and his eyes moving back and forth very quickly. He looked like he was blind. I thought for sure he had a stroke. I put him in his carrier and almost immediately he lost control of his bowel and bladder. I was sure he was dying. I was completely bawling as I took him into the vet and it turns out he had a "vestibular incident" which is basically vertigo in animals. He spent the night at the hospital and had some tests run. He was a lot better the next day and got to come home. Evidently, it comes and goes quickly and doesn't usually happen twice in the same animal. I hope not. It made me realize I'm not ready to lose him. He's been around longer than my husband! I feel like a freak being so upset but I dearly love my pets. If nothing else, it's made me give him a little more attention and enjoy those extra moments because you never know when they won't be there anymore...

Shut up. Your old cat has vertigo? My husband has vertigo! Since New Year's Day! I thought he had the hangover flu, but turns out he was spinning due to what the doc diagnosed as an inner ear virus. His grandpa gets these "spells" too... that last a couple weeks! I told Dylan he has to warn his children that he may be passing on defective dizzy genes.
